Ranthambore is home to around 300 plant species, mainly dry deciduous due to low rainfall. The dominant tree is Dhok (Anogeissus pendula), covering about 80% of the park and serving as food for deer, nilgai, and antelope. Other notable trees include Banyan, Pipal, and Neem with their cultural and medicinal value. Fruit trees like Mango, Jamun, Ber, and Tamarind are common, while Flame of the Forest adds bright colors in bloom. The park also hosts valuable species like Khair, Tendu (used for bidis), and Khus grass, known for its aromatic oil. Lotus and water lilies enrich the lakes, creating a rich diversity of flora that supports Ranthambore’s unique ecosystem.
